Hello, I’m Betsy!

I tend to see the whole picture. The light, the landscape, an interesting building. The way the wind catches someone’s hair or an expression that happens in the in between. I want the senior I am photographing to become part of the whole composition, while still capturing their personality, mood and all the little things that make them them.

I want to create pieces that aren’t just a photo on a wall but more an expression of art. To capture seniors the way we parents see them; the expression you’ve known since they were little, the laugh, the confidence that’s beginning to show up, the softness … all the tiny pieces that somehow still allow you to see your little kiddo despite the almost full grown human in front of you.

If I can capture even a little bit of that, maybe then they can see themselves as remarkably as you do.
