Sweet Isla! I quickly became entranced by this gorgeous baby girl and her canine pal, Stanley, is pretty smitten with her too. She is a charmer, with the sweetest grin and who adores her ceiling fan in the sweetest, most adorable way. I think if mom and dad keep a handheld fan nearby at all times, raising sweet Isla will be a breeze! ;)
Thank you guys, for the time. Your baby girl is breathtaking!
I met this senior on the steps of the St. Peter in Chains Cathedral. I thought the large columns and expansive steps would serve us well and I was not wrong. When Kathleen walked up in red, I knew we had picked the perfect spot. And that only rang truer as we wondered through the area. One of the reasons I love longer shoots is that it allows my seniors to naturally become at ease thus enabling me to take photos that would more reflect their character in front of the camera. This gal proved just that as she fell so effortlessly into place, occassionally singing a small quip in conversation with an expression that never eluded her.
Kathleen, if was so wonderful shooting you. Thank you for choosing me and allowing me the time. It was a pleasure working with you. ~ B
These three beauties are off to college in the Fall and while this has them heading in a little different of a direction, there is no doubt in my mind that they'll always be connected. Girls, congratulations on graduation and to the start of college. I wish you guys the best life has to offer on the journey. ~ B
Meeting this sweet girl took me back to first meeting her big sister, 3 1/2 years earlier. Her teeny, tiny toes and fingers so delicate they serve as a reminder that some of the most impactful moments of life are in the fray. Day in and day out we set the plans of our life before us. We pray for the ease of our journey for the slow inclines to our summit points but the reality is that our most memorable moments lie in the seasons between our initial ascent and the steep grades of our story that have us pausing for relief and seeking rest. Those moments we feel as if one more step would be unbearable, where we glimpse a break in our mountain and the sun comes over an edge with startling clarity and we're immediately gifted a divine push that propels our chapter forward. A nod from the heavens that forces us to look ahead and continue the climb. That creshendo moment where we realize that the steps we took to get there, the experiences leading to this point, aren't dimished by the page turning but rather that the remaining story exists and flourishes because of them. The beauty of life is in the fray and this sweet girl came into this world in one of those holy moments that allowed for a pause in the story, an incredible ray of sunshine on the page.
Christa, I have been fortunate to know your beautiful family; you, Tim, Scarlett and now Chelsea. I think to the chinese proverb that represents a belief that all who are destined to meet are connected by a red string that never breaks no matter the distance or circumstance. You guys are a red string in so many stories, mine included, all four of you. I am so grateful to know you, to have seen your family grow and to have been gifted a glimpse of the Kimmel story. To you and Tim, thank you for allowing me the time. The house next door with always be the Kimmels!
Happy Graduation, Caroline and Ella! I am so glad we were able to connect on UC's campus. Looking forward to hearing all about your freshman year!
One never expects to find themselves end of senior year and facing a pandemic. To say that there is a lot to grieve for graduated seniors is an understatement of massive proportion, so it was a great blessing to be able to take this beauty’s portraits … finally. Finding the day that we could connect, half way for both of us, in Louisville was the first task, then the right location for it, the second. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to be introduced to a beautiful park that suited us just fine.
Robie, I am so grateful to have finally gotten time with you, my beautiful niece. I know your senior year didn’t quite finish the way you’d imagined but I am so proud of you. You’re a force and I am looking forward to seeing what KWC has in store for you. They are lucky to have you on their roster. You’re gonna kick some major behind while you’re there! Love you girl!
I spent a gorgeous evening in Louisville with this beautiful spitfire of a human being earlier in the week. While we were unable to shoot on Campus in Wilmore, we had a great location option in L-ville to make up for it. It was the kind of evening that made you quickly forget what Covid took away; not just in the number of people enjoying meals together, the beautiful weather or the folks playing with boats on the pond, but especially in a smile that never left this beauty. You wouldn't have known that she missed her friends or felt a little jilted from the losses in her last semester as an undergraduate, for she carried herself with a joy that put any disappointment in its place, and in turn illuminated a hope in her as she spoke to her future. Sydney, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you, thank you for entrusting me with your portraits. And congratulations on all of your achievements and your graduation! Lisa, congrats to you to, momma, great job! ~ B
When you're lucky enough to see your dear friend and take her family's photos ... Sharon and Charles, thank you for letting me have the time with you guys. It was a pleasure meeting your parents. Hopefully, next time, we won't have to don masks. I so grateful for you guys! ~ B
It is so hard to believe this handsome guy is three. From the very beginning, those cheeks have made it impossible to not feel joy. His sweet little spirit comes through every time he grins, his entire face illuminated by his smile. And sweet baby Bryn, so big aleeady. Those little legs will be running in no time and I'm certain by the time she turns one this summer, she will be working hard to keep up with that big brother of hers.
Tiffany and Shawn, thank you for allowing me the time again. It is always so good to see you all! Even during this crazy season of quarantines and social distances. Love to you all! ~ B
