Easy, Peasy, Beautiful, Breezy ....

This stunning Senior and her beautiful Momma were a pleasure to spend time with.  We enjoyed making our way on a quiet night around the Cincinnati Nature Center on yet another oddly warm evening.  This beauty was quick on her feet as she manuevered the landscape with the ease and energy of a wee one, offering up great opportunities to capture shots that were just about her being herself.  Suzanne & Carlie, I am so grateful for the opportunity to connect with you two, for your willingness to wander with me.  Carlie, I wish you great things as you decide what your coming year will look like, I am sure you'll have wonderful success as you go.  Thank you, very much! ~ B

Mason, Class of 2017 …

This Handsome guy and his beautiful Momma met me at Devou Park on a warm Sunday evening.  The weather was beautiful and we were able to freely enjoy the park as we wandered into several spots from the Behringer-Crawford Museum to Rotary Grove.  The park was bustling with folks, many of whom were enjoying a good game of golf in the unseasonably warm weather.  From there we found ourselves on the old brick roads of downtown Covington, where we admired the gorgeous architecture and character that was around each corner.  We could hear Reds fans cheering across the river as they watched their favorite team in the last game of the season.  I genuinely enjoyed the great conversation and ease of our walk with these two.  It was easy to see with these genuinely kind and brilliant folks that "beauty and handsome" aren't only skin deep in this fantastic family.  Thank you, Tina and Mason, for the wonderful time and for the opportunity to photograph the start of this new season for you all.   I look forward to round two on the Soccer Field with you both! ~ B

Thunderclouds, Sun and Windswept Whispers ....

Thunderclouds, Sun and Windswept Whispers ....

I met this gorgeous Senior, her beautiful Momma & even the handsome guy in her life, on a night where the thunderclouds hung overhead.  We kept a close eye on the forecast and wound up with a perfect night for shooting.  I had the pleasure of wandering this beauty's backyard of a couple hundred acres which was home to many a critter and many fantastic corners, even snapping pictures on the very spot her own sister was wed. There the towering trees provided a perfect canopy of shade on the area, a location not much different than one you'd find in a classic film.  This senior, a talented one, with such an ear for music, managed to teach herself how to play a variety of instruments and still stay grounded.  She truly commanded the attention around her with the least bit of intent.  It was easy to capture her in a place she called home, where she has likely run barefoot more times than can be counted with the sun falling on that smile like it was made just for her and where the wind's in her hair like it has sweet whispers of her beautiful future.  Alex and Sherry, Thank you so much for the wonderful time, for allowing me the opportunity to catch a glimpse of your world and for allowing me to document this place in your book.  I am sure there are wonderful things in store and I wish you many blessings en route!  ~ B

Towering Beauty in Over-The-Rhine ...

Towering Beauty in Over-The-Rhine ...

City shoots are always a fun sort.  For this one, we found ourselves in Over-The-Rhine and Washington Park.  They aways lend themselves well to great images.  The old German architecture, the towering buildings and brick paved alley ways are amazing, even the graffiti is awesome in it's own right!  There is always so much life in these spots and it can easily add a nice twist to our vision.  This gorgeous Senior and her beautiful Momma were a lot of fun to stroll the city with and they were so open to venturing into different territory; walking into the middle of streets, under posted signage, sitting on private doorsteps, laying down in grimy alleys and even running through the fountains.  It is easy to find a new perspective on a shot in a place like this.  And if you can't find it, it's natural for passerby's to offer their personal thoughts on the composition.  One person sharing his concern over our choice of ragged old door frame versus the next one that was covered in beautiful flowers and fresh, colorful paint.  His statement along the lines of, "She's too pretty to be in that place" ... what he didn't understand is, that with this girl, that "pretty" begins internally and the radiance that comes from that can brighten the darkest and gloomiest doorstep on their own.  This beauty walked with a fantastic confidence that towered like the gorgeous buildings we stood between and when she kicked off her shoes and freely wandered barefoot, her joyfulness and contentedness were contagious.  Hanna & Michelle, it was a joy spending the evening with you two.  Thank you for the time, I wish you all the best for your Senior year! ~ B

And so the adventure begins ...

Alms Park, such a treasure in this beautiful city.  One side has sweeping views of Lunken and the other follows the curves of the great Ohio River.  We arrived on a day the clouds hung low with the crisp Summer sun dodging them like a quick game of peek-a-boo.  These five college bound friends laughed their way through a sweltering humidity in a sweet way.  Their interactions allowing one to see how genuine their love over one another.  Years together turned graduated and headed for college.  This bittersweet season hangs between the young girl in a prized twirly dress, catching lighting bugs on the breezes of Summer to a young lady lightly stepping from one side of the door to the other and into a great big world awaiting her greatness!  Jean de La Fontaine once said, "Rare as is true love, true friendship is rarer" ... I am sure these beauties, though they move beyond these days of friendship, understand their gift in each other and I don't think change, distance or adventure will change that.  I wish you beautiful ladies great success in your new endeavor, know that you are amazing and that this is only the beginning of something really beautiful! ~ B

And baby makes a beautiful three ...

And baby makes a beautiful three ...

Pristine little lips and teeny tiny toes ... that is what this gorgeous girl is made of.  Shifting this newborn for pictures, holding her tiny frame, one easily remembers how quickly things change.  Just weeks before I was fortunate enough to meet her wonderful parents as they waited her arrival and with this shoot got to meet the girl that would change their world.  It is easy to look at wee ones and think there isn't much to them, their sheer size and fragility being what they are but the reality is, the minute they find themselves on this side of heaven they're the ones in charge.  Our hearts immediately cease to know life without them and we fall head over heels instantly in love with the new person in our lives.  This sweet babe was nothing shy of perfection; her soft whimpers as she informed us of her displeasure, her big wide eyes as she zoned in on the click of my lens and her sweet, wrinkly feet as she pushed her way out of the wrap that held her and the way she owned the hearts of her parents as I moved to snatch of few pictures ... this girl, this wee beauty, she is a game changer, without a doubt a world changer!  Thank you A & J, your sweet babe is a gorgeous one! ~ B

Great Expectations ...

Many of you know the season ... the one in which you can think of little else outside of the preparing for a new addition.  The thoughts to nursery, names, future and the sheer fears of "will I know what I'm doing" ... the good news is, we all do just fine.  And just as you fall in love instantly with the new little person in your life, you seem to go into parenting mode in a blink.  These two beautiful people will be no different, I am sure.  They were easy to be around, a calm folk that seem to just resonate in their togetherness ... from the way they spoke to one another to the second nature fist bump for one another at the end of the shoot.  It is easy to see they've found their other half and I know it is going to be exciting when they meet and welcome their new daughter.  A & J, I am so thankful you allowed me the opportunity to shoot a few pictures for you.  Thank you for inviting me in and thank you for your generous kindness and welcoming personalities.  I wish you two the absolute best in all that you do.  From one previous California family to another, I hope that life in Cincy brings you face to face with some of your greatest dreams fulfilled with many blessings along the way! ~ B

Oh, The Places You'll Go ...

Spent a beautiful Friday evening with these four gorgeous gals on a quick group shoot.  This group of gals was very comfortable with one another and managed to laugh the entire time we walked through Friendship Park.  It is easy to see why they connect and despite their changing future and soon to be distance, I am sure these girls will find great ways to keep that connection.  E, A, H & M, The University of Dayton, University of Virginia and University of Kentucky are getting some really great freshman in you guys.  Looking forward to seeing what is in store! :)

Sunshine Peeking ...

Sunshine Peeking ...

Rain and cold were the preeminent weather patterns for the day and I wasn't quite sure we were going to be able to pull this one off.  Just minutes prior to arriving at Ault Park rain was pouring hard on the pavement but as if it was destined to be, the skies cleared and we were blessed to have not only glimpses of a beautiful sun, but the storm clouds around us.  This sweet family has been among my favorite people to see so regularly and it was wonderful to get to see their little guy go from a teeny babe to one nearly walking.  It is obvious, the love between these three, as I watch through my lens.  The smiles don't stop the entire time we are together.  Their joy is contagious.  I'm so thankful for their positive nature, for their visions and ideas with each shoot and have truly enjoyed being part of this new season with them.  It was so bittersweet to hear they are relocating.  It is expected that you become attached to your clients but this couple and their beautiful son have been such a pleasure to get to know and I lack adequate words for expressing my thanks to them for their ongoing support and belief.  L & S, THANK YOU, thank you, thank you.  I wish you many many blessings and look forward to hearing what God has in store.  I know you will do wonderful things in your new home and will be such a light to those who come to know you!  Much love! ~ B
